Laurie Meggesin at the 2019 FCAN Summit.

Dear FCAN Friends and Colleagues,

The dawn of the new decade brings with it a great opportunity to reflect as an organization on where we have been and the possibilities for the future. The new decade also heralds personal change for me.

After seven incredible years with FCAN, I will be stepping down from my role as executive director in the coming months. I am so grateful to all of our partners for your support since I joined FCAN in 2013 to launch the organization’s first strategic plan. We have accomplished a lot together as a network, and I owe a debt of gratitude to all of our partners in this movement.

Of course, there is much work still to do. FCAN is finalizing a new strategic plan to set the course for the next five years. The time is right for new leadership to guide the exciting and challenging work ahead.

To find a new executive director to lead the next phase of FCAN’s work, the University of South Florida is launching a thoughtful and thorough search process with significant representation and input from FCAN stakeholders.  I will continue to serve as executive director in the meantime, with the goal to support a seamless transition.

These past seven years at FCAN have been some of the most fulfilling of my career.  I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with some of the kindest, smartest, most passionate, and most dedicated leaders and professionals that I have ever had the pleasure to know. It has been an honor to serve alongside you, and I will continue to cheer on FCAN, and all of you, in the years ahead.

With deep gratitude,

Laurie Meggesin
