This session, policymakers were tasked with budget reprioritization exercises to identify areas of overspending with the goal to pay for hurricane relief, teacher salary increases, and coronavirus containment. In terms of higher education, legislators prioritized bills that focused on restructuring performance-based funding for universities and grant programs for students.

As of the date of this recap’s release, all budget allocations and (unless otherwise noted) legislation are awaiting Governor Ron DeSantis’ signature.
