Providing resources and support for students in foster care and experiencing housing insecurity allows them to achieve an education beyond high school. Yet, many are unaware of the tools available for them – tuition exemptions, housing supports, wrap-around services, and more.
To ensure students have a successful academic journey, the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Positive Pathways Program, administered by Educate Tomorrow, plays an instrumental role in forming higher education primary points of contact so students aging out of foster care can receive assistance to obtain and complete their education.
With the assistance of college liaisons, students can be connected to resources that lead to a successful future. Critical to that success is support at the local, regional, and national level.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- State resources available to pursue education beyond high school for students in foster care
- Key contacts in communities and at Florida colleges and universities that can support foster youth postsecondary success
- Strategies to create a seamless transition from high school to college with community partners
This webinar is designed for school counselors and college access partners.
