Career/Technical Education is an important path to success for many students. Often, these students don’t know that the technical certificate they earn may be eligible for an award of college credit towards an Associate in Science degree that can boost their long-term career prospects and earning potential.

February is CTE Month, which gives FCAN’s assistant director for network partnerships, Kathy McDonald, a great opportunity to host Lisa Bliss, Tech Express Advisor with Valencia College and Andrew Jenkins, Senior Director for Orange Technical College, Orlando Campus, to the webinar to share their innovative Tech Express program.

This unique collaboration developing articulation agreements between Orange Technical College, Osceola Technical College (oTECH) and Valencia College has meant that more students are continuing on to Valencia to “stack” their credentials, which gives students the ability to earn while they learn.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • How to move from competition to collaboration through articulation agreements
  • Ideas for implementing a similar partnership in your community
  • How to overcome common challenges to implementation

In 2016-2017, nearly 106,000 Florida residents who had already graduated from high school were enrolled in CTE throughout the state.  Learn how Orange Technical College and oTECH students are saving time and money earning credits that can be applied toward an Associate in Science degree while making a smooth transition to Valencia College from an approved technical program. By continuing beyond their technical certificates, these students can position themselves for further advancement in their field.
