Too often, students don’t start thinking about their future until the end of high school. FCAN has responded by creating Plan It Florida, a new College Ready Florida initiative with the goal of ensuring every Florida student graduates high school with a college or career plan.

Plan It Florida serves to support schools, counselors and community organizations as they work to help build a plan for what comes after high school by engaging students in the 4 E’s — Expose, Explore, Experiment, Execute — starting as early as middle school. This initiative provides communities with tools and resources to help students develop their skills and explore their interests, career options, and the education they will need after high school to achieve their goals.

For this webinar, LaVerne Handfield, FCAN’s Statewide Initiatives Programs Coordinator, will be joined by Mark Vianello, Executive Director of Career & Technical Education at Marion County Public Schools, to share their new Career Planning Guide, and Nashla Dawahre, Assistant Director of Student Services at Florida Virtual Campus, to highlight resources from MyCareerShines that may support similar programs.

In this webinar, you will learn about:

  • FCAN’s toolkit of activities and other free resources schools and community organizations can use to guide students along the 4 E’s
  • Best strategies for implementing a college & career readiness program in your community
  • How to leverage MyCareerShines to track student and district progress
