What’s New This Year
FCAN’s First-Look FAFSA Dashboard provides actionable data for the 2025-26 school year making it easier than ever for educators and policymakers to see how their school, school district, or legislative district compares with others across the state, and where students may need more support to access financial aid. This tool helps leaders quickly identify trends and direct outreach to ensure more high school seniors get the financial help they need to pay for college.
To support Florida leaders in responding to these trends, FCAN has launched the First-Look FAFSA Dashboard, which tracks FAFSA submissions and completions by state, school, school district and, for the first time, by House and Senate districts. Counselors, district leaders, higher education partners, and legislative staff can monitor progress and target efforts to boost FAFSA completion rates statewide. Counselors can identify which seniors haven’t completed the FAFSA; district leaders can compare progress across schools and this first-time tracking by House and Senate districts will allow legislators to see weekly FAFSA completion trends in their districts.
How to Use the Dashboard
The First-Look FAFSA Dashboard displays the number of seniors who have completed the FAFSA this cycle. Students in the graduating class of 2026 could begin submitting the form on September 24, 2025, two months earlier than the previous academic year, giving schools more time to help students access financial aid before deadlines. (Note: While students and families had access to the FAFSA since September 24, the first completion and submission data was released with a November 7 reference date.)
For context, the First-Look FAFSA Dashboard displays completion statistics from the same period in the previous year’s cycle (2024–25), allowing users to compare current-year FAFSA submission and completion data to last year’s.
Users can explore data from more than 600 public schools, Florida’s 67 counties, and House and Senate districts using multiple filters and search tools to view weekly completion-rate trends, compare progress to the same time last year, and monitor week-over-week changes.
Note: FAFSA completion rates (percentages) will be available once enrollment figures are released near the end of the year. At that time, the First-Look FAFSA Dashboard will be updated from completion counts to completion rates.
