The innovative college search tools College Abacus and Pell Abacus are now available in Spanish!
Known as College Ábaco and Pell Ábaco, the free online tools enable Spanish-speaking families to comparison shop for affordable college options with ease.
Launched by College Abacus this month, the two Spanish-language sites are the first-of-their-kind to combine the net price calculators from over 5,000 U.S. colleges into one central location. While College Ábaco generates tuition cost estimates based on personal financial information, Pell Ábaco streamlines this process for students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program.
“Researching and understanding your college financial aid options is daunting for most people, but it can be especially overwhelming for first generation students and parents who are non-native English speakers,” said Abigail Seldin, College Abacus co-founder and vice president of Innovation and Product Management at ECMC Group in a press release.
“By launching College Ábaco and Pell Ábaco, we’re making it easier for the tens of millions of Spanish-speaking households in America to not only identify the best schools for their budgets but navigate the college search process as a family unit.”
The sites are also the first Spanish-translated resources to incorporate college-specific data on financial factors from the U.S Department of Education’s College Scorecard, such as alumni earnings, average loan debt, and average loan repayment.
Thanks to College Ábaco and Pell Ábaco, Spanish-speaking students and families can understand the true cost of college more easily than ever, empowering them to make the best college decisions possible.
