The University of South Florida ranked number one among other research/doctoral institutions in the nation for student success, based on improvements to their retention and graduation rates over the last decade.

The University of Central Florida, Florida State University and the University of Florida also received high marks for their performance.

Eduventures, a research firm based in Boston and publisher of the 2016 Student Success Ratings, released the ratings to pay tribute to the institutions that have been the most successful in improving their student outcomes. Points were assigned to over 1,100 four-year public and not-for-profit institutions in the nation using the difference between a college’s predicted and actual student success outcomes among other metrics to create a combined index score for student success.
