More than a year after launching its “Think Florida: A Higher Degree for Business” campaign, the State University System of Florida (SUS) has announced the addition of tools aimed at giving business leaders access to new recruitment and informational resources.

The revamped Think Florida website hosts multi-purpose tools from the state’s career resource centers along with ExpertNet, an online hub that provides information about university experts, research centers, and opportunities for technology licensing. The site also aids employers by connecting them to Florida’s 12 universities to help with recruiting interns or employees.

“Our universities are the training ground for Florida’s future employees and entrepreneurs, even as they advance the discoveries and inventions that attract businesses and fuel the economy,” said Tom Kuntz, Chair of the Florida Board of Governors, in a press release. “By staying focused on the needs of the business community, we’re doing everything possible to give our students and taxpayers the best possible return on investment.”

The website also includes a listing of career fairs and other business-focused events at state universities.

SUS launched the Think Florida campaign — which includes regular events, speaking engagements, and other various communications — with the aim of strengthening ties with the business community.

The site’s new tools were incorporated in response to a survey conducted by SUS in partnership with the Florida Chamber of Commerce.

“The State University System is a partner for thousands of Florida businesses, whether engaged in training future employees or commercializing research,” said Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, in a press release. “By working together, we are building a strong foundation for Florida’s economic prosperity.”
