Florida College Access Network (FCAN) has created this preview of top budget priorities and policy proposals that stand to affect the state’s college students during the 2018 Florida Legislative Session, which begins January 9.
The legislative preview includes a brief outline of bills filed to date by members of the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, which include reforms to Florida College System governance, increases to performance-based funding to public colleges and universities, and changes to Bright Futures and other state financial aid programs.
The 2018 Florida Legislative Preview is the first in a series of releases FCAN has planned during session to track policy updates related to college and career readiness, access and success.
