Employers, community organizations, and even school systems try to determine what students will do after high school based on their own perceptions. But what do students think?
In 2015, CareerSource Suncoast started reviewing data related to high school students’ perception of college and career for its annual report, which is sponsored by CareerSource Florida. Chris Laney, Director of Education & Community Investment for CareerSource Suncoast, will lead a session titled “State of Students Report: Parent Perception on College” at the 2019 Florida College Access Network Summit.
The 2019 State of Students Report includes input from students at over 20 schools — public, private and charter — who provided insight into the differences between priorities at each school. In the latest installment of FCAN’s Summit Speaker Series, Chris talks about the origins of the report and some of the more surprising findings from the 2019 edition, which also includes data related to parents’ perception on college.
