Choosing a college is a momentous decision for a high school senior. It is a huge step and worthy of celebration.

Florida College Decision Day, Florida’s adoption of the First Lady’s Reach Higher Initiative’s College Signing Day, is your opportunity to celebrate high school seniors for their postsecondary plans and to encourage younger students and their families to prepare early for college. Inspired by NCAA National Signing Day, Florida College Decision Day events support the idea that academic excellence is worthy of just as much praise and accolades as athletic excellence. Schools and communities celebrate high school seniors’ next education steps in a variety of ways: pep rallies, ceremonies, picnics, adorning college gear, guest speakers, and more.  You can even invite a guest speaker from the White House.

This year, the First Lady Michelle Obama has invited schools and communities to celebrate College Decision Day on April 26th. Florida CAN encourages all Florida high schools to host an event on or around that date, on a day that works for your school schedule.
