The Florida FAFSA Challenge wraps up exactly one month from today, and Florida is still about 19,100 FAFSAs away from reaching the goal of improving FAFSA completion statewide by 5% over last year!
As of February 14, there were 42 high schools and five school districts in Florida that had met the 5% goal, resulting in a statewide completion rate of 32.9%. With six weeks left, that figure places Florida less than 10 percentage points away from this year’s FAFSA Challenge completion goal of 42.5%. However, the state’s current 6.6% error rate (percentage of FAFSAs submitted with errors) means Florida’s current completion rate if those errors are corrected is 35.2%, putting Florida closer to the goal.
