The Florida College Access Network (FCAN) is pleased to announce that Kimberly Krupa, Ph.D., has joined the organization as Director of Network Engagement and Communications.
Dr. Krupa brings extensive experience in coalition building, strategic communications, and collective impact work to this newly expanded leadership role. For the past four and a half years, she has served as FCAN’s Network Development and Engagement Consultant, building communities of practice, designing professional development programs, and strengthening collaboration across Florida’s 20+ local college access networks.
“Kimberly has been instrumental in building the infrastructure that supports our network partners across the state,” said Braulio Colón, Executive Director of FCAN. “Her deep understanding of both local and statewide college access work, combined with her strategic communications expertise, makes her uniquely positioned to lead our efforts to strengthen network engagement and amplify FCAN’s impact.”
Prior to consulting with FCAN, Dr. Krupa served as Executive Director of Achieve Escambia, a local college access network in northwest Florida. She also led the successful campaign to establish the Escambia Children’s Trust, securing a dedicated source of funding for children and youth services, with 61% voter approval.
Dr. Krupa’s background spans nonprofit leadership, investigative journalism, policy research, and systems-level change work. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans and has worked with organizations including Tulane University, Brown University, Feeding America, and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana.
In her new role, Dr. Krupa will oversee FCAN’s network engagement strategy, signature initiatives including the annual Talent Strong Florida Summit, and communications that demonstrate the collective impact of Florida’s college access community.
“After years of working with, for, and alongside this network, I’m thrilled to deepen my commitment to FCAN’s mission,” said Dr. Krupa. “Florida’s college access community is doing remarkable work. My goal is to strengthen the connections between our partners, tell their stories effectively, and build the systems that help us all achieve greater impact for students.”
