Laurie Meggesin, executive director of Florida College Access Network (FCAN), will appear before the Florida House of Representatives’ Post-Secondary Education Subcommittee Thursday as part of a panel discussion about the many ways communities are collaborating to boost postsecondary attainment.

After presenting alongside local college access networks LEAP and Earn Up in January, FCAN was invited back to provide an update on communities’ efforts to improve postsecondary attainment throughout the state.

The panel will take place Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mashburn Hall (306 HOB) in the Florida House.

Meggesin will be presenting with Nicole Washington, higher education policy consultant for Lumina Foundation. There will also be representatives from several LCANs, including Jennifer McFarren, community development representative, Gulf Power Company and Achieve Escambia partner; Jessica Kleinberger, manager of Destination Graduation, Heart of Florida United Way and Central Florida College Access Network partner; and Michelle Zech, human resources business partner for Lee Health and FutureMakers Coalition partner.
