The 2023 Florida Legislative Session adjourned sine die on Friday, May 5th after passing 356 bills and another record-breaking budget, totaling $117 billion. Join us for an initial breakdown of legislation passed expanding career and technical education (CTE), that provide additional funding programs for postsecondary education, and more!

Representative Kristen Arrington (Kissimmee) led the effort to pass legislation on guidance services for career and academic planning (SB 196). Rep. Arrington will describe how SB 196 will impact a students’ ability to plan for their future after high school.

Representative Lindsay Cross (St. Petersburg) co-sponsored the House versions of SB 1190 and SB 274 creating the Step into Success Workforce Education and Internship Pilot Program for foster youth and creating a nursing education pathway for military combat medics, respectively. Rep. Cross will go over how these bills will assist students on their postsecondary pathway and help add to our growing workforce.
