“We need youth to start thinking entrepreneurially because our workforce is evolving faster than ever.”

Research shows a gap between the workforce readiness skills most sought by employers — including critical thinking and problem-solving — and the preparation and training students are receiving.

During the upcoming 2022 Talent Strong Florida Summit, a presenter from the Florida Afterschool Network will share how the organization is using entrepreneurship education as a framework to better prepare youth for the workforce of tomorrow. Jennifer Smith, Youth Entrepreneurship Specialist for Florida Afterschool Network, will lead a session titled, “Rethinking Career Pathways: Leveraging Entrepreneurship Education to Prepare Youth for Real Life.”

In the latest episode of FCAN’s Summit Speaker Series podcast, Jennifer discusses what it means to get students thinking “entrepreneurially,” and the benefits of impact entrepreneurship education has had on her own life and career.
