Florida College Access Network’s Board of Advisors recently selected Marlene Spalten, President and CEO of Community Foundation Tampa Bay, as its new Chair.
The seven-member board advises and collaborates with FCAN leadership on the strategic direction of the organization.
In addition to serving on FCAN’s advisory board, Spalten is a community leader who has served on the boards of the Florida Philanthropic Network (FPN) and Community Foundations of Florida (CFF). Spalten is also Secretary to the Board of the International Women’s Forum (IWF Suncoast) and serves on the Community Advisory Boards for the Junior League of Tampa and Junior Achievement.
Under Spalten’s leadership, Community Foundation Tampa Bay serves as the backbone organization for the LEAP Tampa Bay College Access Network, the local college access network serving Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. She has also led the successful launch of several major initiatives including Mental Health First Aid training, and — in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Partnership, USF, and United Way — produces the annual Tampa Bay Regional Competitiveness Report.
Spalten’s nomination as Chair was approved unanimously.
Please join us in congratulating Marlene on her new leadership position within FCAN’s advisory board!
