FCAN is once again offering an early glimpse at some of the great content you can expect to hear at the 2019 Florida College Access Network Summit.
We are excited to bring back our Summit Speaker Series, a collection of brief interviews that will be featured on the Florida College Access Network Podcast. The Summit Speaker Series gives a select group of speakers and presenters the opportunity to share information about their sessions prior to the summit, which is set for May 7-8 at the Rosen Centre Orlando.
The 2019 FCAN summit will feature over 40 sessions highlighting innovative approaches to breaking down barriers to student success, including college access, success and completion, affordability, career readiness and workforce development, equity spotlight and collective impact.

February 13: Welcome Luncheon — Candid Conversations, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, President of Amarillo College.
February 28: Awards Luncheon — The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges are Failing Disadvantaged Students, featuring author and keynote speaker Anthony Jack, Assistant Professor of Education at Harvard University.
March 13: Movie and Discussion — “Unlikely”, featuring award-winning director Adam Fenderson, Filmmaker and Co-Founder of Three Frame Media.
March 27: State of Students Report: Parent Perception on College, featuring Chris Laney, Director of Education & Community Investment, CareerSource Suncoast.
April 11: Why Do Students Leave College? Preliminary Results from a Research-Practice Partnership, featuring Dr. Justin Ortagus, Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration & Policy, University of Florida
April 17: First Generation College Students — Practice and Research of Successful Retention Strategies, featuring DeOnte Brown, Director of Retention, Clemson University; Rose-May Frazier, Director of Advising, Florida State University; and Dr. David Kenton, Senior Associate Director, Florida International University.
