Show your appreciation for an innovator in your area who has risen above challenges to ensure Florida students achieve their academic goals!
Florida College Access Network invites you to nominate an innovator from your school, business, or community (including yourself!) who utilized innovative strategies to increase the effectiveness of the College Ready Florida initiatives, strengthen workforce education in the community, or prepare students to complete the FAFSA.
Nominations are now open for the College Ready Florida Innovator, Workforce Education Innovator and FAFSA Trailblazer.
College Ready Florida Innovator
Are you, a colleague, or community organization going above and beyond to support students and their education after high school? How has the nominee implemented any of the College Ready Florida initiatives: Apply Yourself Florida, Florida FAFSA Challenge, Florida College Decision Day, and Plan It Florida? Does the nominee offer unique incentives or leverage social media to motivate students? How have students been staying on track with:
- Applying to postsecondary education (college, university, or CTE)
- Completing the FAFSA
- Building a plan for life after high school
- Celebrating postsecondary plans
Workforce Education Innovator
Are you, a colleague, community leader, or business going above and beyond to help Floridian’s access workforce training and education to achieve a rewarding career? How have new strategies been exercised to strengthen workforce education in your community or business? How are non-academic barriers being addressed so students can complete a credential?
FAFSA Trailblazer
With the delay of the 2024-25 FAFSA, how has your school adjusted to having less time ensuring students complete the form? Were fall events hosted for students and families to set up a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID? Has your school hosted interactive and engaging financial aid events? What strategies is your school using to motivate students to complete the form before upcoming deadlines?
Awardees will be honored at the 2024 Talent Strong Florida Summit at the Hilton Orlando taking place on May 8-10, 2024.
